Job Security Today then become an Ultrasound Technician
Turn on the news today and it is depressing to hear that unemployment is still at 9% and it is not going to change anytime soon. Soon enough to ease the pain that you and your friends are still going through the worse rescission since the 1930’s. Now, there is very little that you can do to help improve the national economy but there is something you can do to help position you into getting a job, a career change.
As President Obama pointed out, healthcare, specifically healthcare costs are rising. Sadly that is all true. As a side effect of that, the job market in the healthcare field is booming compared to other markets. So get up and head off to your nearest Community College or trade school and enroll to become a ultrasound technician salary. Oh no you say, more schooling. Yes more schooling and it is necessary schooling if you want this position. As a ultrasound technician student expect to be in school for at least an additional two years.
During those two years be sure to pay attention especially to the courses on medical terminology, computer science and the life sciences. Once you have graduated with your degree in ultrasound technology, you will then need to get certified by the American Radiological and Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Association (ARDMS).
With the degree and certification you can then apply at any clinic or hospital as an entry level ultrasound technician salary with a starting salary of around $54,000. Then as you gain much needed work experience your salary as an ultrasound technician salary will increase to about $70,000, and if you specialize your technician salary will be close to $80,000.
Sounds good right? Well it is but be prepared for some long hours and hard work. But that is way better than sitting on that couch correct?
